Tell us your story.
I was searching the web one day when I came across this site. I showed my mom and she seemed to like the jewelry. My birthday was near so she decided that when I turned 12 I would be old enough to get the kit. I began selling my jewelry to girls around the neighborhood. They liked them so much their family member started ordering!

Where do you sell your jewelry? Do you have any tips on selling there?
I sell my jewelry out of my home. Either by order forms or Ebay. Order forms work better though because the people will make appointments to be sized in chokers, bracelets, and some times anklets.

What's your biggest selling piece and why?
Earrings. They seem to last a little longer with my customers than anything else. This area in jewelry is my widest selection, too. I make pearl earrings to glass beaded earrings to what teens are wearing these days. I get most of my ideas out of catalogs, stores and even looking at pictures!

What one piece of advice can you give to other aspiring jewelry makers?
Well, its not going to all happen @ once. It has taken me over a year to get good selling in. Your jewelry won't look perfect at first so go out side the box. Have fun with it.

Have you quit your day job yet? Can you give us any idea how much income your jewelry is making?
I don't have a day job. I am making about $3,000 a year.

What would you say to someone that might be hesitant to invest in Preston's course?
Don't hesitate. Jump in! Before you know it, people will be asking you to make jewelry for them!

Has jewelry making changed your life in any way?
A little bit. I have less and less time to do other things but it has been a fun ride along the way. Some days I'll invite a few gals from the neighborhood to come and have a Jeweler's Day. I'll teach them how to make something with a variety of old beads or glass beads.

Do you sell any of your work on line or on Ebay? Do you do well there?
Yes. I do fairly well but I wouldn't recommend it to starters. It takes a while to get your name around.

What's your plan for the future?
I plan to make a higher income and to start classes for tween girls. I'm enjoying it so much I can't keep it all to myself!
