I recently took this pic on a walk in my hood on Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota (Yes, the lake Prince refers to in the movie, Purple Rain). I grew up on this lake and my life path has taken me to many beautiful places, but I always longed to return and live near this beloved lake. So I did 6 months ago!
They say you can't go home again and I agree. In the sense that "home" isn't the same and you certainly aren't the same person returning home. The planets aligned for me and I was able to return home and it's been delightful. Growing up on a lake in the Midwest shaped me more than I thought and I am grateful for taking long walks around such beauty.

So, of course the lake inspires me constantly! I wanted to create a very quick and easy jewelry project that reflected the lake colors (pun intended). I used 20- gauge wire for these earrings but you could make them with 18- or 19-gauge if you want stronger earrings. Just make sure your seed beads holes are large enough to fit onto the wire. Once you make your first pair, you'll realize the color pallets are endless. The project is very customizable - make them as short or long as you desire.
