Tell us your story.
About a year ago I was in the stained glass business and made cabochons while firing other projects in my glass kiln. These were just simple pieces of jewelry, and I wanted something a little more challenging so I decided to order the basics package of Preston's. This package caused me to sell my stained glass business. In the time since I ordered it and now, I have opened my own jewelry shop business. I am now teaching the art of jewelry making in other aspects as well as Preston's method of wire sculpting. When I begin a class in wire sculpting I inform all my students how I happened to learn his technique.

Thanks Preston-- you got me started on a whole new avenue which I am enjoying very much.

Where do you sell your jewelry? Do you have any tips on selling there?
Since I began making jewelry I have not had any particular place at this time to sell out of. All of my sales have been by word of mouth only. I may do a couple of upcoming shows here in my home town but other than that I have a difficult time keeping up with the orders I receive now.

What's your biggest selling piece and why?
My largest selling item so far has to be rings. They are reasonably priced and east to make.

What one piece of advice can you give to other aspiring jewelry makers?
If you have never had formal training order Preston's basic package at least.

Have you quit your day job yet? Can you give us any idea how much income your jewelry is making?
I was forced into retirement due to a visual disability. I am a former truck driver. I am making between $ 500.00 and $1000.oo per month part time and work when I want to work. I really don't consider what I do as work though.

What would you say to someone that might be hesitant to invest in Preston's course?
Your loss!!

Has jewelry making changed your life in any way?
I now have the freedom to come and go as I please and set my own hours.

What's your plan for the future?
Relax, relax, and relax. Not much more to say.
