Ambrose Dangerfield
From El Mirage, Az

Tell us your story.
Hi, my name is Michael Dangerfield, and I got into this by accident, a while ago I had a stroke and was sitting at home not doing anything other than watching the tube, and one day I thought I need to do something while I am watching TV. I saw a ad in a magazine about beading, and so I signed up for a beginners course, and thought I could do that and keep my hands busy. That was the start, the instructor said that it could be addicting, and she was right. Soon after that, I found Prestons wire-sculpturing web site and signed up for one of his packages. I expanded to wire-wrapping cameos, and gemstones, and it gets more exciting as I expand to pendants, necklaces, rings, earrings and so on.
Has jewelry making changed my life? Yes!! Now my hands and mind are busy, it has also re-awakened the creative side of me, as many years ago I was a designer of electrical and neon signs.

Where do you sell your jewelry? Do you have any tips on selling there?
So far, my sales have been among friends, and some of the personel at the Mayo Clinic, I have been taking some of my pieces with me where ever I go, and yesterday sold two pieces to a couple of waitresses at a Dennys rest. I think just showing your jewelry items to people helps.

What's your biggest selling piece and why?
The cameo and cabachon pendants have been my best sellers so far

What one piece of advice can you give to other aspiring jewelry makers?
I think that getting one of Prestons courses is the best place to start. And then just get involved you won't regret it

Have you quit your day job yet? Can you give us any idea how much income your jewelry is making?
No, I have not quit my day job as of yet, but it will not be long

What would you say to someone that might be hesitant to invest in Preston's course?
jump right in, do not wait, his courses are amazing, and very easy to understand, a very good instructor

Has jewelry making changed your life in any way?
Yes it has had an impact on it, I realize that I now can stay at home and work and make a good living

What's your plan for the future?
My plan of action is to start with home jewelry parties, and see how they go before I try anything else.
