I am Joan Madouse and I live in Coronado, CA, the island across from San Diego. I retired two years ago after a 30 year career in property management in Northern California. After being widowed for seven years, I married a retired Navy Captain in Coronado two years ago. He is my biggest fan and supporter.
I had made various forms of jewelry for craft shows but had not discovered wire sculpted jewelry until February of 2011, here at Wire Sculpture.com. I was hooked from the start and Dale "Cougar" Armstrong is my favorite teacher, who challenges me to jump on it and try something new.

Pink Ice by Joan Madouse is a 25.63ct. Kunzite stone, wrapped in sterling silver wire.
I purchased this 25.63 ct. Kunzite and it reminded me of royalty. I wrapped it in sterling silver wire. It is simple, yet elegant and dainty.

I built my own website in April of 2010 and it features the wire sculpted jewelry that I create. I love working with the wire, creating beautiful pieces of jewelry that people want to own. My catch phrase is, "Creating Tomorrow's Heirlooms Today".

I wear my wire jewelry creations whenever I go out in public and always have a business card handy when someone asks about my jewelry. Making jewelry is now my business and no longer a hobby. I limit the craft shows that I enter to just one major one locally. This year I have started giving home jewelry parties, plus customers can always visit my home studio to select their own treasure.

Blue agate titanium druzy, faceted, wrapped in silver craft wire by Joan Madouse, embellished with 2 AB Swarovski crystal beads.
Having begun with simple designs like the "Anything" harness on gemstone hearts, I have been so very pleased to watch Joan as she progresses, learning and applying more and more difficult techniques to her ever growing wire jewelry collection.
Pink Ice: Wraps are nice, consistent; frame is well formed; bail is well constructed and even; "just enough" embellishments to really set off such a lovely stone. Well done!
Each month, we pick a talented wire jewelry artist and their work to highlight. We know we have some incredibly talented customers, and we seek to encourage and highlight those members of our community by highlighting one wire artist every month.
