Step 1: With your wire twister twist the 8 pieces of 20 gauge wire, the 2 pieces of 5” wire.
Step 2: With your bail pliers make a make a figure 8 out of each 3” piece of wire. At the end of each figure 8, curl the cut end under. This will form an “S” from your figure 8.
Step 3: Layout the 8 “S” shaped wires opposite each other to form a heart. You should have 4 hearts. 2 wires for each heart.
Step 4: Cut a 3” piece of half round wire and wrap the two “S” pieces of wire together to secure the heart shape. Do that to all 4 hearts. |
Step 5: Take 2 of the hearts and put one on top of the other and secure them with half round wire.
Step 6: Connect all 4 pieces together with half round wire.
Step 7: Take the two 5” pieces and twist them
Step 8: Take one of the pieces and with your round nose pliers place the pliers in the middle of the wire and wrap it around the round nose forming a V.
Step 9: With your bail pliers bend the wire around them to form a hump about an inch up from the small loop in the middle of the wire. Do this to both sides to form a heart. Cut the wires and close the heart with the half round wire.
Step 10: Attach the heart upside down to the top of your piece. The small loop will form the bail where you will slip a small jump ring to hang chains with.
Step 11: Snap the gemstones into the settings and with the round wire weave the settings onto your pendant. You can choose smaller gemstones and place more of them on the piece. It is your design. |
Step 12: Bundle the 5 pieces of 4” wire with half hard half round wire. Wrap about a half inch in the middle of the wires.
Step 13: With your flat nose pliers bend the wire at a 90 degree angle in the middle of the wrapped wires.
Step 14: Take your bundled wire and slip the stone in the middle where the bend is
Step 15: Take the outside wires and bend them over the stone forming an X. This should secure the stone in the setting. Cut the wires down to form prongs to hold your stone in place.
Step 16: With the remaining wires fasten the gemstone to your piece. Where the upside down heart is. With the excess wire, form loops over the gemstone to secure it in place.
Step 17: With you last 5” wire bend the wire around the bail pliers at the halfway point. Take each end and form spirals. Attach to the bottom of your piece with half round wire.
Step 18: Tumble your piece or polish and clean it.
