Today we have a couple of quick tips from Kim about using Pumice when soldering.

Instructions

Kim Says:

1. Use a pumice pan when annealing rather than a solder board or ceramic block. The pumice does not retain heat as long as either of those, thereby becoming less of a fire hazard.

2. Pumice can also be used for a third hand in many instances. The ability to infinitely position your pieces in the pumice allows for precise placement and alignment. An added bonus, it does not become a heat sink as a traditional third hand can.

Kim St. Jean
