Easy Blingy Ear Wires
Sometimes you need just a wee bit more touch of bling (or pearls, or beads) to set your design over the top and stand out. These simple blingy earwires are great for adding that unique touch when you want something a little more special than plain ear wires. This project uses 4mm Swarovski round crystals and I've also done another pair using Swarovski pearls. Explore other sizes, shapes and materials such as beads, spacers and gem stones.
Instructions
Cut a piece of 2" wire 20 gauge. Make a small loop using your round-nose pliers. Center the loop by using your flat-nose pliers to carefully reposition the loop so it's centered.
Pro Tip: Use a permanent marker to mark the exact spot on your pliers so each loop is the same size.
Slide the crystal onto your wire. Make a 90 degree bend 1mm above the crystal. If the bend is too close to the crystal you could possibly crack it.
Using the Wubbers Medium Bail Making Pliers with large jaw on top, place loop curling under right against jaw edge. Bend wire around top jaw by pushing with your finger until the wire almost touches the crystal.
Note: Use the Wubbers Large Bail Making Pliers if you want a larger ear wire.

Trim wire to desired length. Bend the tip up just a tad and smooth out the wire end using a wire rounder (simply spin the wire around inside the wire rounder cup).
