I was inspired by a beautiful winter field to use these warm colors in a necklace. Figure-8 links are quite versatile. Once you're comfortable making them, watch how often they make an appearance in your designs!

Instructions
Step 1
Working directly from the roll of 18-gauge wire, use one end to form a loop using the largest part of the nose on the round-nose pliers, and using the pliers to gradually curve the wire instead of wrapping the wire tightly around the pliers. This will result in a loop that is larger than the largest part of nose.
Step 2
Move the pliers just below the section of wire where the last loop meets the center of the wire and repeat Step 1, going in the opposite direction to form a figure-8.
Step 3
Use flush cutters to trim the wire where the second loop meets the center of the wire
Step 4
Place the figure-8 link onto the bench block and use the hammer to flatten and work-harden. Repeat Steps 1-4 four times to form a total of five links.
Step 5
Use the round-nose pliers to "close" both of the loops on FOUR of the links so the loops touch the center of the wire, forming an infinity link. On the fifth link, close only one loop, leaving the second loop open to form an S-clasp.
Step 6
Use a 3" piece of 22-gauge wire to form a wrapped loop that attaches to one end of the pendant.
Step 7
String 1 bead. Form a wrapped loop that attaches to one infinity link.
Step 8
Continue to form beaded links, attaching them between infinity links, to form one half of the necklace.
Step 9
Determine the length you want the necklace to be and trim the leather accordingly. Use nylon-jaw pliers to attach one ribbon crimp end to one end of the leather. Use 1 jump ring to attach the final beaded link to the ribbon crimp end.
Step 10
Form beaded links to attach to the remaining infinity links as before, forming the second half of the necklace. Attach the S-clasp to the final beaded link, and hook into the free end of the pendant.
