You can add texture using a texture hammer like I did in the sample piece or skip it for a smoother finish. I used 18- gauge wire so it would hold the structure with no problem so no need to work harden it. But I always love to add a bit of textured interest to any wire piece if possible. You could also patina the piece once finished for a completely different look.

Instructions
Step 1
Make two bead dangles: Slide three beads onto an eye pin and create a simple loop at the top.

Step 2
Make another bead dangle by sliding three beads onto a ball head pin and making a simple loop at the top.

Step 3
Cut ¼" piece of chain and attach between one eye pin dangle and ball head pin dangle.

Step 4
Cut ¼" piece of chain and attach to the top of the dangle. Attach a jump ring to the chain.

Step 5
Cut a 4" piece of wire and straighten if needed using the nylon jaw pliers. Make a simple loop at the top of the wire using the Wubbers small pliers jaw.

Step 6
Use one wire at a time or both wires and shape around the large Wubbers pliers jaw.

Step 7
Repeat the previous step going in the opposite direction.

Step 8
Hammer the wire to add texture using a texture hammer and bench block.

Step 9
Open the ear wire loop, insert the wire loop and jump ring. Close the ear wire loop. Trim the wire end using a file to smooth out any rough edges. Repeat for the other earring.
