This bracelet is for those who want the look and feel of chain maille without having to master it. It is chunky and has a bit of a jingle. Any nugget beads will suit this design or you can swap in some teardrop or oval shaped beads or pearls.

Instructions

Step 1

Flush cut the end of your wire and file this end smooth and rounded. Place your turquoise nugget on the wire and using chain nose pliers turn 2mm of the wire back onto itself in a hook shape and then flatten the hook so the 2 wires sit snugly side by side.

Step 2

On the other end flush cut the wire 20mm from the end of the nugget and file the cut wire smooth and rounded. This 20mm measurement will depend on the size of your loops. You may need a bit more or less wire. Try this out on a piece of scrap wire first and mark your pliers so you get uniform loops. The wire is much easier to file smooth and rounded before it is wrapped into the loop where it is harder to access. Place your wire in the round nosed pliers at your mark and wrap 2 loops. The end of the wire should be snug against the loops at the base.

Step 3

The bracelet is made up of 3 strands of 1 in 1 chain with 30 rings per strand. The bottom strand has a wrapped nugget on each ring. Open a ring and place a nugget on the ring and close it. Open another ring place a nugget on the ring and go through the previous ring and close the ring. As you add rings with nuggets make sure that they lie in the same way as the ones before. Each odd numbered ring should lie the same way as should the even numbered rings.

Step 4

To attach the strands to the clasp ends make sure that the clasp pieces have one mushroom end facing up and the other facing down. Make sure the chains aren't twisted and that the odd and even numbered rings lie the same way. To attach the chain to the clasp open the last ring of the chain and go through the small loop on the clasp, then close the ring. Attach the plain chain strands to the top 2 rings of the clasp ends and the turquoise strand to the bottom rings.
