The color pallet for these earrings were inspired by a stark image of Storm Barra hitting Donaghadee, Northern Ireland. I love using Wubbers pliers to create interesting shapes and wanted the end result to be a bit on the wonky side, not perfectly square so you could clearly see they are handcrafted. You could make these out of any interesting combinations of wire colors and crystals. So quick and fun!

Instructions
Step 1
Using the bronze wire directly from the spool, tightly wrap it around the large Wubbers Square Mandrel Pliers (use the largest jaw).

Use your fingers to press the wire tightly against the jaw at each turn.

Step 2
Once you have wound 5 or 6 times, Place the pliers flat on the bench block and tap with the hammer to work harden and square up each side.

Step 3
Cut excess wire and carefully slide the coil off the jaw and cut each coil up the middle of one side of the square with your flush cutters creating large square jump rings. Make 6 of these.

Step 4
Hammer each jump ring to further work harden and secure the shape.

Step 5
Repeat steps 1-4 using the silver wire and medium Wubbers Square Mandrel Pliers (use the largest jaw). Make 6 of these.

Step 6

Step 7
Lay out a dangle, a large and a medium square jump ring. Make 3 sets according to the image.

Step 8
Attach each set using a jump ring

Step 9
Attach an ear wire to the top jump ring. Repeat for other earring. You may have to twist the loop 90 degrees using chain-nose pliers. Here's how to make your own ear wires:
