Instructions
Step 1
Materials and tools for this project are shown on this picture. I will use 18ga (1 mm) base wire and 26ga (0.4 mm) weaving wire. This teardrop shape cabochon is 34 mm tall.

Step 2
Cut 2 base wires with the length of 10 inches (25 cm), each.

Step 3
Take one of the base wires. Bend it in half, as shown here.

Step 4
Continue to bend the wire ends to the opposite directions, until you make a 0.4 cm tall loop with the center of the base wire.

Position the loop in front of you, making sure that the wire ends are pointed upwards. You must have a 90 degree angle between the 2 wire ends, otherwise adjust the distance between the wire ends.

Take the second base wire, hold the center of it tight within the chain nose pliers, as shown here.

Bend the left half 90 degrees backwards.

Position the bent center of the second base wire over the loop of the first base wire, as shown here.

Cut a 32 inches (80 cm) long weaving wire. Bend it in half.

Position the bent center of the weaving wire behind the crossing wire ends above the loop of the first base wire.

Wrap each weaving wire end 10 times around the base wire, as tight as you can.

Now position the second base wire over the first one, then wrap each weaving wire end 3 times around both base wires. Let's call this weave 10-3 weave.

On the right side, make another 4 rotations of the 10-3 weave, as tight as you can.

Hold the loop tight within the chain nose pliers and bend the loop 90 degrees backwards.

Position the loop over your working place, then position the bottom center of your stone over the loop. The woven base wire ends are pointed toward yourself.

On both sides, bend the woven base wires over the side of the stone, as shown here and on the next picture.

Now, on both sides bend the end of the woven part into a small curve, in a way that the end of the weave meets with the back circumference of the stone.

Repeat the same step on the left side as well.

Here, on the left side of the stone, take the upper base wire and bend it slightly to the right side direction, as shown with the arrow.

Switch to front view. Bend the wire end upwards, making a little curved part with it over the upper left side of the stone, and positioning the wire end close to the top end of the stone.

Switch to the right side of the pendant and repeat exactly the same steps on this side as well.

Switch to back view. Take the other base wire ends from both sides, bend them completely downwards over the back of the stone, positioning them close to the loop.

Take the weaving wire end from the left side (from this point of view), position it close to the top of the stone, then wrap it 5 times around the 2 base wire ends above the top of the stone.

Over the base wires, cut off the extra weaving wire end, then pressure it with the chain nose pliers until it is completely closed.

Switch to front view. 1 cm above the recently woven part, hold both wire ends tight within the chain nose pliers and bend them 90 degrees backwards, as shown on the next picture.

Wrap both ends of the weaving wire 3 times around the loops and both base wires, to connect them.

Cut a 4 inches (10 cm) long weaving wire. Position the center of this weaving wire behind these 2 base wire ends.

Take the right end of the weaving wire, wrap it 2 times around both base wires, to connect them.
