Oyster Coast Charm Bracelet

I designed and wrapped these large holed freshwater pearls to dangle fresh and light from a bold, gold bracelet chain. The weave takes a bit of practice. Use the nylon jawed pliers to help pull the wire through the hole, and straighten to re-weave the wire back through.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure and cut 10 inches of 26-gauge enamel craft wire for each pearl charm. Fold the wire in half.

Step 2

Thread both ends through the bottom of the pearl center, leaving a loop at the bottom. Leave enough of a loop for wire to pass through the loop several times.

Step 3

Bend both pieces of wire back down one side of the pearl, then thread the ends through the loop at the bottom. Bring the wires back up on the other side of the pearl to the top.
Repeat this step, bring both wires down through the bottom loop, then up to the top on the other side.

Step 4

Thread each piece of wire back down through the center of the pearl, then bend one wire to each side, and back up each side.
Use the nylon jaw pliers as needed to keep out any kinks in the wire.

Step 5

Thread the wires through the side wires to anchor them, and bring them back up to the top.

Step 6

Twist the pieces of wire around each other at the top of the pearl. Twist both wires into one loose strand.

Step 7

Make a wire wrapped loop using the round nose pliers. Wrap wire twice around the base. Trim off any remaining wire using the wire cutters.

Step 8

Create the remaining pearl charms until you have the desired number needed to make the bracelet.

Step 9

Arrange the design on the bead mat. Cut the chain to the desired length. I used 7 inches of chain. Open the jump rings and attach each pearl to a link on the chain for your design. Close the jump rings.

Step 10

Open one jump ring to attach each side of the clasp to the chain. Close the jump rings. Adjust as needed for length and comfort.
