Kansas Tornado Daisy Chain Bangle

This bangle was quick and fun to make. With the variety of metal patterns available, you can create dozens of interesting color pallets by simply changing out the crystal color dangles. The bangle would also look fab with pearl dangles. I patinaed the cuff to enhance the darling flower design in the wire and give it a more vintage look. You can skip the patina step if you want the bangle to be shiny copper colored. Work harden the bracelet if you want it to be super stiff. You could also leave off the crystal dangles and just create a simple bangle. So many possibilities!

Instructions

Step 1

Pro Tip: Use G2-6000 cutters to cut these Pattern Wires.

Flush cut 8" of the Daisy Chain Copper Pattern Wire. Snip the corners of each end and file to make the edges smooth and rounded.

Pro Tip: It's important to protect your eyes when cutting metal so wear your safety glasses!

Step 2

Either patina the entire band with Liver of Sulfur or color the wire with a permanent Sharpie making sure you are getting the ink into the deep crevases. Let dry and polish with a polishing pad to remove most of the ink.

Step 3

Using the small bail making pliers, wrap the ends around the larger jaw.

Step 4

Time to bend your wire into a bangle. Using the bracelet bender, carefully work your way around the entire band squeezing the pliers to make small bends. Continue doing this until you are satisfied with the shape.

Pro Tip: Using a bracelet bender keeps the integrity of the metal. If you bend the band using your hands, it can bend unevenly and create fragile kinks or even snap in half.

Step 5

Using the hole punch, punch 5 holes in the center of the bracelet and file out any rough edges the hole punch may leave.

Pro Tip: After punching the holes you may have to use the bracelet bender again over the area where you punched the holes to reshape.

Step 6

Create 5 dangles by sliding a bicone crystal onto a headpin and making a simple loop at the top.

Step 7

Attach the dangles to the bangle by slipping a dangle onto a jump ring. Slip the jump ring through one of the holes in the bangle and close the jump ring. Repeat four more times.
