Instructions
Step 1:
Prepare the frame wire
Cut a 6" length of 16-gauge wire and straighten,by holding one end in the chain nose pliers and running the length through the nylon jaw pliers a couple of times.

Step 2:
Shape a circle
Hold the center of the wire against the ring mandrel (or cylindrical object) and form a circle that measures approximately 1 1/4" across.

Step 3:
Form the paisley flourish
Grasp one end of the wire with the round-nose pliers and form a small loop upwards, so that it sits on the outside of the frame.

Make the loop round by snipping the end of the wire off, holding the flat edge of the flush cutters at a 90° angle to the wire.

Notice how this opens the loop up again.

Using the round-nose pliers, close the loop.

Step 4:
Complete the shaping
Grasp the wire just after the loop with the round-nose pliers and turn inwards, forming a hook shape,

Step 5:
Form the bail loop
Grasp the other end of the wire with the largest/thickest part of the jaws of the round-nose pliers and turn a loop that sits at the top of the pendant.

Make the loop round.

Turn 90° upwards, so that it can be used as a bail.

Note: - Alternatively you can add a separate bail to the flat loop.

Set aside.

Step 6:
Prepare the wire for the vine detail
Cut a 30" length of 28-gauge wire.

Straighten it using either your fingers of the nylon-jaw pliers.

Measure the center and loosely fold in half

Step 7:
Add beads
Thread 5 x 3mm rondelle beads onto the wire and pass down to the loop
Cross the wires over themselves, forming a small circle for the flower shape in the beads.

Step 8:
Secure the flower
Carefully twist the wire, by grasping the beads between your thumb and forefinger and turning, while holding the straight wires in position in your other hand.

Note: - Take care not to over twist, as this will cause the wire to snap. Twist just enough to hold the flower firmly, approx. 3 - 4 times.
Pro Tip: To make a matched pair of earrings, work both earrings at the same time, so that you can ensure that they are a mirror image.

Step 9:
Secure the stem
To space each 'bud' and flower evenly, we use coiling to stop all of the beads bunching up and sitting on top of each other.

Coil one wire around the other 3 times.
Pro Tip: To keep the coils neat, guide each pass of the wire into place with your thumb nail, whilst holding the straight wire taught in the other hand.

Step 10:
Form a bud
Thread 1 x 3mm rondelle bead onto the wire that you just used to coil. Leave a gap of about 3 -4mm on the wire and cross it over itself.

Carefully twist, until the wire becomes stiff and the bead is held in position, approx. 4 - 5 times. Take care not to over twist.

Coil 3 times again.

Step 11:
Form a second bud
Repeat step 10 to create a second bud on the opposite side.Notice how the central core is forming a zig zag pattern.

Step 12:
Add a briiolette
Thread a briolette onto the wire. Carefully bend the wire against the stone and cross it at the point of the stone.

Twist the wires together approx. 5 times.

Coil 3 times.

Step 13:
Complete the vine
Follow step 10 again to create 2 more buds.

Thread 5 x rondelles onto the wire and shape into a circle.Twist until the flower is secure.

Form another 2 buds so that your vine is complete.

Step 14:
Position the vine
Lay the vine inside the frame and position, so that you are happy with it.

Note: - Ensure that there are at least 3 points of contact with the frame, so that it is held securely in place.

Step 15:
Attach the vine
The vine now needs to be secured in place.Starting with the shorter wire, coil to the frame 3times to attach it.

Continue coiling until you reach the point the paisley shape meets the frame, bind twice to secure.

Bind the frame closed.

Step 16:
Continue to secure
Begin working the longer 28-gauge wire. Coil the frame until you reach the second point of contact.

Bind into place 2 or 3 times.

Step 17:
Continue coiling
Keep coiling and binding until you run out of wire.
Attach a new wire. Cut a 15" length of 28-gauge wire and attach it to the frame.
Pro Tip: Ensure the coils are in the same direction.Lock into existing coils 3 times.Continue coiling.

Step 18:
Bind the final point
Attach the end of the vine to the frame by binding 2 or 3 times.
Coil the frames 3 times to secure.

Step 19:
Final step
Trim the wire ends on the inside of the frame and tuck in using the chain-nose pliers.
