Instructions

Step 1:

Form the eye

Cut a 16" piece of 18-gauge wire. Grasp one end of the wire with round nose pliers to create a loop of about 7 mm in size. This will be the fish eye.

Step 2:

Form the mouth

Measure 1 cm from the loop, then bend the wire towards the loop. Measure 2 cm from the first bend, then bend the wire towards the loop to form the fish mouth

Step 3:

Shape the body

Use your fingers to slowly shape the fish body as shown.

Step 4:

Form the tail

Measure 5 cm from the tip of the mouth, then bend the wire upward as shown. Measure 1.5 cm from the first bend, then bend the wire downward. Repeat to complete the tail.

Step 5:

Shape the belly

Use your fingers to slowly shape the belly.

Step 6:

Bend the belly

Bend the wire downwards at a 90 degree angle (more or less) from the belly.

Step 7:

Freeform

For the remaining wire, you can bend the wire however you want.

Step 8:

Hardening

Place the fish on the steel bench block and tap it several times with hammer until flat. Do this to harden the whole piece.

Step 9:

Add the bead

Cut 16" of 28-gauge wire. Coil one end around the eye about 10 to 12 times. Slide the bead all the way between the eye and coil the remaining wire around the eye all the way down to the belly.

Step 10:

Done
