These Celtic knots are like potato chips, you'll want more than one! Using colored wire (I used four different colors in this project) is always delightful. You could use copper wire and patina once you're finished but I love this springy colorful pallet.

This is a great project to use up your scrap wire since each knot uses only six inches of wire. Make your knots as large or small as you wish, it's such a versatile technique, it's sure to become one of your faves! You can make this as a wrap-around bracelet as well as a necklace.

Instructions
Step 1
Cut a 6" piece of wire and bend in the middle forming a teardrop shape and overlap the wire ends.
I cut all the wire lengths at the same time -16 total, 4 of each color.

Step 2
Gently smooth a curve using your fingers onto the top wire going in the opposite direction.

Step 3
Move the top wire tail underneath the other wire (it starts looking like a treble clef). Slip the wire tail through the top loop.

Step 4
Gently pull on each wire end and tighten the knot up. Use your hands and/or chain nose pliers on each end to get a really good grip. Bend and shape the wire as you go making sure not to get any hard bends or kinks.

Step 5
Make the knot as small as you wish and taking your chain nose pliers, make a very slight bend in the wire right above the knot so the tails are coming out of the middle of the knot. This makes the knots line up straighter when completing.

Step 6
Slide on a crystal and make a wrapped loop at each end of the knot. Tuck in any sharp wire ends.

Step 7
Attach your knots using jump rings.

Step 8
Finish up by attaching a jump ring to the end knot adding a lobster clasp on one end and a jump ring on the other end.
