Beaded Wire Heart Hoop Earrings

Sometimes more is more and sometimes less is more. These simply lovely wire heart shaped hoops with beaded accents strike the perfect balance between more and less. They work equally well with or without the beads and are easily adapted to a variety of sizes.

Instructions
Step 1
Cut two 5" segments of wire.
Step 2
Use flat- or chain-nose pliers to create a bend in wire at the 1" mark as shown in photo.
Step 3
Bend one end of wire to a 90-degree angle with flat- or chain-nose pliers as shown in photo.
Step 4
Grasp end of wire with round-nose pliers and turn it into a loop. (Make any adjustments with chain-nose pliers.)
Step 5
Thread on three beads.
Step 6
Round wire at about the 1.25" mark around the top of your dowel as shown. This forms the first bump in your heart shape.
Step 7
Use flat- or chain-nose pliers to create a sharp bend in wire as shown in photo.
Step 8
Round wire over your dowel again, forming a bump equal to the first. This completes your heart shape.
Step 9
Thread wire end into loop. This is how the earrings are secured closed when worn.
Step 10
Cut any excess wire with flush cutters.
Step 11
Use nylon hammer to work harden the wire to help maintain the shape. (Be sure to keep the beads off of the bench block!)
Step 12
Use wire rounder tool or sandpaper to smooth wire end.
Step 13
Repeat all steps for second earring.
