Remembering the Fallen

One fateful day in September our lives changed in an instant. I still remember the phone call I received from my husband. He asked if I was watching the TV? I told him no, as I didn't normally watch TV in the morning... He said " Go turn it on, you won't believe what just happened.." and there was something in his voice, something frantic and scared. It was in those brief moments, as a nation, we were changed forever. I personally will never forget how I felt that day.

Today we commemorate one of the most dramatic attacks on our nation that most of us have seen or will ever see in our lifetime.

As I have pondered this important day, my thoughts wandered to how we, as creative artists, express our emotions. Some of us paint, some of us dance, some sing. For those of us who create art it represents so many things - it express our emotions and it shows how we feel and what we think. Today I decided to share with you a few jewelry artists and how they express their feelings about 9/11 .

I dedicate this post to those fallen heroes, to those who lost their lives on 9/11, and to all of our service men and women who continue to fight for our daily freedoms!

"This isn't so much about the piece of jewelry, but why it was created. We are in the hot August dog days of summer. School has started here in Georgia and Labor day is just around the corner.
