In my former life as the editor of a DIY jewelry magazine, every couple of years I would make my way down to Santa Fe, New Mexico, for industry-sponsored trade shows. Before heading back home, I spent many hours walking the streets of town, taking in the sights, smells, and tastes of what has become a beloved destination of mine. Vivid colors abound in this city, from Native American markets and galleries full of art, to Southwestern textiles and garments. But I find that the more muted adobe structures take on a simplistic beauty all their own. I snapped this photo on a remarkably warm afternoon in March when I was captivated by the play of the coral and green tones against the pale, earthy background. These colors combine for a warm and inviting palette, with just enough pop to give this memory wire cuff a feminine touch.
