Color Inspiration - Land and Sky

One of my fave reasons for living in Colorado is the colors! That's why Colorado's nickname is "Colorful Colorado." The mountain scenery, sky, rivers, lakes and plains are constantly changing with the shadows of the day and seasons. As an artist, I find these changes constantly fascinating and inform my artistic expression. I'm definitely not alone as so many creators throughout history have painted and been inspired by those magnificent mountain ranges and magical blue skies!
I took this picture with my cell phone in the car (from the passenger seat - don't worry, I wasn't driving). As we drove around a bend in the highway, this view literally made us gasp in awe and I knew someday I'd use this color pallet in future jewelry creations. Mother Nature is the best colorist in my opinion!

I used 20-gauge amber colored wire and Wubbers pliers to create the whimsical heart links. I then connected the links with large peacock blue colored 20-gauge wire jump rings. The dangles are bicones combined with my hand painted silk beads. I put it all together with a lobster clasp as the final touch.
