I don't know about you, but I love the holidays! Any holiday, from birthdays to the 4th of July. I even make up holidays to celebrate and bounce me out of a funk (funniest day of the year, eat all my fave goodies day, ISIJAKD - International Stay In Jammies And Knit Day). They bring joy and make us feel good. I don't look at the holiday season from a religious perspective but from a celebration perspective. The ritual and deep meaning of the winter solstice is one of my favorites and I give myself permission to take the time and crank the dial way down, take slow, deep breaths and feel the deep gratitude for my life.
As a maker like you, creating and sharing handcrafted jewelry brings me great joy, especially during the holiday season.

I make jewelry year-round, planning to sell or gift specific pieces.

Though I'm usually good at keeping track of friends and loved ones on my list, I always end up with surprise gifts from unexpected guests and nothing to give them.

This is awkward and scrambling for last-minute presents disrupts my holiday-zen vibe.

So, I came up with a perfect solution and have done it for years: making a few simple, easy-to-please jewelry pieces for surprise guests.

These earrings fit the bill and are fun to make using your bead stash or by picking up a few colorful beads.

I adore this festive holiday card that looks like a quilt and thought it would make lovely jewelry color inspiration.

I matched the traditional holiday colors for these earrings, aiming for a vintage feel rather than bright and shiny.

Muted red and matte evergreen beads worked well with a few metal spacers added in.

The base is simple memory wire with loops on each end, attached to ear wires.

Three dangles connected by a jump ring complete the design.

That's it! Such a fun and easy project, you'll have trouble deciding how many to make!
