Color Inspiration - Flowers in Pike Place

The photo inspired my new found wire craft - designing, and shaping spring knots. I wanted to make larger knots using a 1/2 inch diameter dowel to then thread fabric through the larger holes. This silk 'fairy fabric" is perfect to thread the larger knots with all six strands. The very small spring knots ( made with 24 gauge craft wire on 3/16 inch diameter dowels) are threaded with just one silk strand. The lightness of the silk is inspired by the soft colors of the flower petals. Strong greens, purples, golds, red, and copper craft enamel wire is arranged to highlight the knots. 18 gauge 12mm copper wire jump rings link to form a neck chain without a clasp.
