Awash in her 5-year-old son's school art projects, a crafty friend of mind grabbed a scissors and framed small sections of one of his paintings to make some gorgeous pendants. Some day when he has his first show at MOMA, I want to wear this pendant and say, "Yes, this is an early Cooper. It's from his after-nap-time blue period. "
To create my necklace, I could simply attach the pendant to a silver chain and call it a day. But I wanted to add some color to the mix - enough to shine a light on Cooper's color choices, but not so much that it fights the pendant for attention.
I had everything I needed in my stash, since Cooper and I apparently are happiest in the same green/blue area of the spectrum. I choose mostly colors that would pick up the pendants lighter greens - though I balanced them with some of his darker, mossier tones. I also tossed in some pops of aqua to add tiny specks of brightness in the otherwise moody color mix.
I used silver chain and findings to match the pendant's frame but also create a cool contrast to greens that leaned a little toward the warm side of the color wheel.
