Color Inspiration - Colorful Colorado

They don't call it "Colorful Colorado" for nothing! According to Google, the name was chosen by congress in 1861 for the territory of Colorado because of the magnificent scenery of mountains, rivers and plains. Also, because the sun shines over 300 days each year.
I love living in a postcard. I took this beautiful picture from my backyard in Loveland, Colorado.

Nature inspires me endlessly, and my iPhone is filled with stunning images. My Facebook friends are probably tired of seeing mountain range after mountain range, but I can't resist capturing the sky as it shifts colors with every sunrise and sunset.

When choosing this color palette, I covered the bottom third of the image with my hand. The palette then showed mostly shades of blue.

Remove your hand and view the full image suddenly, shades of tan and light sage appear, softening the blues and adding beautiful light to the scene.

I used wire colors from the palette in my photo to hand-form individual wire hearts, inspired by Loveland, Colorado. Each heart was shaped using 20-gauge wire.

After work-hardening them by hand hammering each piece, I linked the hearts together with complementary seed beads and jump rings to create a trendy chain.

This chain makes a beautiful bracelet and even a stylish pair of earrings.
