Color Inspiration - Aubergine Dreams

An antique dish filled with eggplant, red onion, and basil, picked fresh from the garden. Washed and arranged just so, they greet the morning sun. It's no wonder artists paint still life works using fruits and vegetables. I too, enjoy finding interesting vessels, grouping produce together, and finding a glowing light to elevate my garden interests from kitchen table to photography subject.

Deep variations of color, and rich patterns within each object are a feast for the eye. Shades of aubergine, basil greens, a creamy white gold patterned dish, and stone wall background work together to bring the eye to the curves and textures of the photo.

Dark purple crystal beads are hand knotted giving space for light to reflect the facets around the necklace. A single clear rondelle on one side of the necklace and another around the clasp add interest to the design. The earrings are also hand knotted, incorporating the greens, clear crystal, and light amber color which is present in the stone background. The colors of our harvest, together with a sparkle of the sun influenced my bead choices for this jewelry design set.
