Question:

When making a wire bracelet how do you measure to determine how long to make it?

Answer:

Well, the length of the bracelet depends on why you are making it. If you are making it for a customer, measure their wrist and use whatever formula is given for the particular bracelet pattern you are following, as the author or designer of said bracelet has already done the legwork for you and knows exactly what the design’s chosen wire gauges will do for a certain size length needed. If you are just making bracelets for resale, then make a few in several sizes, such as 6 ½-inches long (end to end including clasp) 7-inches long, 7 ½ -inches long and one or two 8-inches long, so you have a variety of sizes to fit potential customers. It doesn’t matter if you only have one style in two sizes, as a customer can choose their style and then a size (by trying on your variety of ready made sizes) and you can take a custom order just for them!
