Tool of the Week for November 5, 2012
This week’s tool: 7 Compartment Tray, #PKG-305.00
Video by Kate, JewelryTools.com
This week’s featured tool from JewelryTools.com is the 7 Compartment Tray PKG-305.00. This is a small, portable component case with 7 compartments just a bit smaller than 1×1.25". This tray gives you organization and ease when you’re focused on keeping your desk organized or taking a jewelry project on the go! Put your beads, findings, even headpin components and ear wires each in a separate compartment. They’ll be easy to see and pick up, and you won’t have to take a big bead case in the car, either! For the price, you could have one of these little trays for every project you’re working on. Tray is 2-7/8" wide by 3-3/8", it’s 1/2" tall, and the compartments are 7/8" x 1-3/8" each.

Another thing you might look at are the locking bead containers that are like the 7 day pill organizers. The good ones have a locking mechanism on the side that you have to push in in order to open each separate compartment. I’m thinking this would be much more secure…I tend to drop things, and if you hit a bump or something, at least with sep compartments if you spill, you’ll only be spilling one section, not the whole tray. I’m speaking from painful experience in traveling. Another idea, is use this tray, but keep the beads in small plastic bags, then just pour into tray as needed, same concept, you won’t be looking under the seat for hundreds of beads.
Have a great trip.
