Daily Wire Tip Oct. 23: Wire Wrapping Pendants
Daily Wire Jewelry Making Tip for
October 23, 2010
Question:
I am 73 and started wire wrapping agates I find on the beach. I would like to know if you have any books or DVDs on just wire wrapping pendants. I have sold a few, but I want to learn other techniques in wire wrapping.
-Leon in Florence, Oregon
Answer:
Free-form agates and other stones that have been water-polished, as well as a variety of "found" treasures, can be easily made into pendants by following the directions in Part 6 of the Beginner Series, "Caged Crystal Pendant."
I also have a great project/lesson that you can use directly from your computer! Lesson 3, "Lock That Rock" was designed just for items like these! Have fun!!

Hello Dale. Wire wrapped jewelry has intrigued me for some time. I even bought some instruction books and wire but never took my interest any further until about two years ago I purchased a set of your DVDs and got started. I have a long way to go but am having great fun and much pleasure with wire wrapping and other wire jewelry. I am 85 and have no desire to pursue wire wrapping as a business but I have received some very nice compliments on my efforts. I want to thank you for such great DVDs. The instructions are easy to follow. I have a couple of very expensive opal triplets I purchased several years ago. When I feel more proficient I will do something with them.
Sincerely,
Ila

I think I have found my answer!! I have been making simple wire wrap bead jewelry for friends and family for a couple of years, now but have always been interested in something that I didn’t have to order “parts”, I wanted to create jewelry from found items with only wire — from rings to earrings…I am pleased to have found this site. I’m 66 and taking care of an house bound partner full time now, he appreciates having me around all the time but this encourages me to possibly make some money from home!! I hope I can purchase some of your lessons and wire soon. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
