Wire Jewelry Inspiration for June 29th 2016
Planting Trees
by Stephanie Traugh
Every once in a while our subscribers send pictures of their projects. This past week, Stephanie sent us photos of what she has been creating with wire and geodes that she purchased from WireJewerly.com. I loved what she was doing with it and asked her to share a few additional examples. I thought you’d enjoy them as well – she calls it ” Planting Trees”
A word from Stephanie:
My name is Stephanie Traugh. I’ve been wire wrapping for 4 years now. I find wire wrapping soothing. I get lost in my creations and a part of me goes into everything I make. I’m self taught so I really don’t have a method. I just start twisting and let the art form itself. I design jewelry ear cuffs, pendants, rings and tree sculptures.
A few examples of Stephanie’s work:
Jewelry : I use 16-28 gauge Silver filled, Sterling Silver, Rose and Yellow Gold filled wire and semi precious stones for my jewelry.
Tree Sculptures: I use 16-24 gauge Copper, Brass or Craft Wire, Plaster of Paris, acrylic paint and moss with various crystals.
We wanted to thank Stephanie for sharing her unique creations with us!
Happy Wrapping!

I have never been enamored of wire work. It just didn’t meet my ascetic but these trees are magnificent! More than a small piece of the artist has gone into each piece. These show us a new prospective of the world around us.

My husband purchased one of her trees for me and I absolutely love it. You can see how much time and detail goes into each piece she does.

Years ago I had a book that taught how to make these trees (Basic designs), but unfortunately I never got around to it, and my house burned down with the book lost. I’m glad to see that someone has either got the book or is very original in her thinking! THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!

I’m very sorry to hear about your house. I’ve never owned a wire wrapping book, may have to look into one.. My mother makes trees, that’s how I got started. Our style is not the same but equally as beautiful.

I am absolutely in awe of your trees. They are gorgeous and so unique. I am wondering if you are ever going to publish a book, or be featured in the wire magazines. Please, please do!
