Today we are sharing a great video from our friend Kate Richbourg. She gives us a fun new way to make “wire” beads that are easy and a perfect addition to any necklace or bracelet.
Kate Says:
Materials Used:
- 1 ft Copper Square Wire – 18 gauge, 16 gauge or 14 gauge. You can also use round wire.
- Any other crystals or beads desired
- Cording to string beads onto.
- Anealing Pan
- Fire Brick
- Butane Torch
- Round Nose Wubbers
- Soldering Tweezers
- Quenching Bowl
I hope you enjoyed this simple video and will find yourself making lots of these fun wire beads for your next project!

I wasn’t able to see the video. Nothing loaded. When I hit the play arrow, the screen just went black. Did anyone else have this problem?

Hello Everyone! We’ve had a few comments about the video not working.. Here are a couple of tips: The video was recorded in high definition and what that means is it’s a “big” file. It will take a while for it to load into the player once you open the post. Watch for the gray bar at the bottom of the video to fill in all the way to the right. As soon as the gray bar fills in completely the video will be loaded and ready to play. Essentially it’s buffering the content until it’s all downloaded and ready to play. Give it a few minutes, and depending on the speed of your device, it make be a few seconds to a couple of minutes… We are working on getting a “smaller” version that will load more quickly… but in the meantime, please be patient with the video. It’s well worth the wait!

Thanks, Judy! It worked. I’ll work on my patience level going forward.

I am wondering if this video is no longer available? My computer doesn’t show anything but a black screen – no arrows, no gray bar at all

The video is working perfectly. If you hover over the box with your mouse, it will show the arrow and the buffer bar. Please realize that this video is quite large, and may take a while to load depending on the speed of your device. As soon as the video loads it will pop right up with a picture of an annealing pan and a few tools sitting next to it, and you will begin to hear Kate talk. Give it time, it may just take a couple of minutes…
