If you`ve been following our blog, you know that we are partnering with our sister company JewelryTools.com in are offering over 100 classes at in Tucson at JOGS Gem & Jewelry Show this year.
While in Tucson, we`ve offered a number of wonderful classes from an excellent group of instructors. If you didn`t have a chance to participate this year, don`t wait – put it on your calendar for next year.
I wanted to share a few of the MANY classes that were available for our students this year!
Albina Manning Wire Woven Bangle – Learn to make this cool, contemporary wire bangle bracelet using wire weaving technique Brenda Branson Shawl Pins – Get to know Prometheus Bronze metal clay in this beginner`s class. Participants will choose from several styles to create three bronze clay shawl pins Cooky Schock Southwest Bangles – Be inspired by the beauty of the Southwest and create a metal cuff as your own personal totem. Donna Lewis Silver Bark with granulation – Artists will bring a piece of bark, cactus or another organic material (or use mine) to set up a mold ready for silver PMC. Jackie Truty Quilled Silver Pendant with gemstones – Have you ever done quilling with paper? Now picture that in pure silver! Using special Silver Paper Type, quill strips into this beautiful filigreed pendant.
Joe Korth Perfect Polishing – When it comes to creating a stunning and exceptionally crafted piece of jewelry, the most important factor is often the quality of the finishing. In this workshop you will learn proper techniques for creating a perfect mirror-finish on your jewelry pieces.
Linda Larsen Rolling Hinges and Lockets – Create a modern locket to store precious memories. Movement and secret spaces are always popular in jewelry. Learn to make a cold join hinge that can be designed for many uses. Learn how to create shape and visual movement in metal. Melody MacDuffee Good Ju-Ju Doll Pin or Pendant – Using Krobo recycled-glass beads from Ghana, create a whimsical good luck doll that can double as a pin or a pendant. In West Africa, ju-ju dolls are meant to carry good luck to their wearers, and yours can too! Olga Dillow Queen Vicstoria Earrings – Students Students will learn jewelry bead embroidery with a cabochon and how to finish back side with leather. Materials included in kit: printed instruction, cabochon, ear wires, seed beads, genuine leather.

Annette Kinslow Celtic Swan Pendant – Students will learn to use heavy gauge wire, hammer and add crystals with smaller wire to make ths graceful pendant.
Carrie Story Prometheus Copper & Bronze Clay – Learn everything you need to know about Prometheus Copper and Bronze clays.
Eva Sherman Fun, Fast Fold Forming – Charles Lewton-Brain developed fold forming; a series of metal folding techniques which allow rapid development of three dimensional surfaces using simple equipment. techniques covered include; line folds, micro folds, applied textures, cold connections and patina applications
Janet Alexander Rose Vine Pendant – Learn how to make a rectangle bead, embed a bail, and then make vines, leaves, and flowers as a decoration on one side. Then polish, add a colorful patina!
Kim St. Jean Conquer the Saw – Learn the proper way to use the jeweler`s saw and riveting techniques to create a unique multi-level pendant.
Marilyn Gardiner Starry Night/Sunny Day Chainmail Bracelet = This is a wonderful necklace that features a trio of gemstone beads alternating with a weighty chainmaille knot. Meredith Arnold Resin Collage Jewelry – Combining resin, paper arts, and metal expands the possibilities for taking art jewelry into the FUN zone! All the tricks and tips will be uncovered as you create a pendant in class.
