    I’m a wire-wrapper, and what inspires me is the rocks themselves–especially raw rocks that I collect myself. Somehow, it’s as if there’s something a stone just wants to be. For the last few weeks I’ve been meditating on one of my most special rocks, a large flake of pink Idaho opal I picked up out in Owyhee County. It wants to be a “statement piece”, but I just have so many ideas it’s hard to choose. I’m sure about banding it with multiple strands of square wire, some twisted, in a heavy gauge, but unsure if I want to foof it up with any add-ons like pearls or crystals, or if I want to make the stone itself a stand alone star of the piece. Maybe I’ll try some of that craft wire and sort of experiment a little, then re-do it in precious metal.
