This is one of those occasions where I felt the need to revamp a bracelet that I made. I had entered my bracelet in the 2011 Gold Club “OOAK” Contest, but was not really happy with the sideways look of the Mexican lace agate. Also the bracelet did not move freely.
I had to get brave and start taking apart the bracelet to decide what it was going to end up as. So I decided to revamp it and came up with this necklace. It really shows off the beauty of the agate cab.
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” is what I was thinking. Of course, I have already sold the piece.

It certainly made a big difference! The first one looks too much like so many finished pieces I have seen. Too many curly-ques and added embellishments that do nothing for the beautiful stone being wrapped.
Great job on the necklace!

I love the revamped piece! Much less “busy” than the original. This one does bring out the beauty of the stone, where before, all I saw was “curly copper wire.”

I’m glad I’m not the only one that remakes initial efforts. I have a little box that I put my “re-purposed” items in so I can sit and dwell on them over time until I get an inspiration to re-make them. Sometimes these are items that I thought looked good but haven’t sold. People like them but always found something they liked better. That’s when I decide they need a makeover to become a contender.
